Etiquette of reciting the Qur’an
- Be in a state of Wudu when touching the Mushaf, and face the Qiblah where possible.
- Begin with A‘udhu billahi minash-shaitanir-rajeem and Bismillah.
- Recite slowly and clearly (Tarteel), and reflect on the meaning — the translations here help.
- Transliteration is a learning aid; the Arabic is the Qur’an. Learn to read it with a qualified teacher.
Learn the masnoon duas and the 6 Kalimas too.
