Surah Al-Muzzammil

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ ﴿١﴾

   Yaw ayyuhal muzzammil

   اے جھرمٹ مارنے والے

   O the One Wrapped in piety! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)

   73:1

2. قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ﴿٢﴾

   Qumil laila illaa qaleelaa

   رات میں قیام فرما سوا کچھ رات کے

   Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it.

   73:2

3. نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا ﴿٣﴾

   Nisfahooo awinqus minhu qaleelaa

   آدھی رات یا اس سے کچھ تم کرو،

   For half the night, or reduce some from it.

   73:3

4. أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا ﴿٤﴾

   Aw zid 'alaihi wa rattilil Qur'aana tarteela

   یا اس پر کچھ بڑھاؤ اور قرآن خوب ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھو

   Or increase a little upon it, and recite the Qur’an slowly in stages.

   73:4

5. إِنَّا سَنُلْقِى عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًۭا ثَقِيلًا ﴿٥﴾

   Innaa sanulqee 'alika qawalan saqeelaa

   بیشک عنقریب ہم تم پر ایک بھاری بات ڈالیں گے

   Indeed We shall soon ordain a heavy responsibility upon you.

   73:5

6. إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًۭٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا ﴿٦﴾

   Inn naashi'atal laili hiya ashadddu wat anw wa aqwamu qeelaa

   بیشک رات کا اٹھنا وہ زیادہ دباؤ ڈالتا ہے اور بات خوب سیدھی نکلتی ہے

   Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength.

   73:6

7. إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًۭا طَوِيلًۭا ﴿٧﴾

   Inna laka fin nahaari sabhan taweelaa

   بیشک دن میں تو تم کو بہت سے کام ہیں

   Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day.

   73:7

8. وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًۭا ﴿٨﴾

   Wazkuris ma rabbika wa tabattal ilaihi tabteelaa

   اور اپنے رب کا نام یاد کرو اور سب سے ٹوٹ کر اسی کے ہو رہو

   And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him.

   73:8

9. رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًۭا ﴿٩﴾

   Rabbul mashriqi wal maghriibi laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fattakhizhu wakeelaa

   وہ پورب کا رب اور پچھم کا رب اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں تو تم اسی کو اپنا کارساز بناؤ

   Lord of the East and Lord of the West – there is no God except Him, therefore make Him your sole Trustee of affairs.

   73:9

10. وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًۭا جَمِيلًۭا ﴿١٠﴾

    Wasbir 'alaa maa yaqoo loona wahjurhum hajran jameelaa

    اور کافروں کی باتوں پر صبر فرماؤ اور انہیں اچھی طرح چھوڑ دو

    And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good.

    73:10

11. وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا ﴿١١﴾

    Wa zarnee walmukaz zibeena ulin na'mati wa mahhilhum qaleelaa

    اور مجھ پر چھوڑو ان جھٹلانے والے مالداروں کو اور انہیں تھوڑی مہلت دو

    And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite.

    73:11

12. إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًۭا وَجَحِيمًۭا ﴿١٢﴾

    Inna ladainaaa ankaalanw wa jaheemaa

    بیشک ہمارے پاس بھاری بیڑیاں ہیں اور بھڑکتی آگ،

    Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire.

    73:12

13. وَطَعَامًۭا ذَا غُصَّةٍۢ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا ﴿١٣﴾

    Wa ta'aaman zaa ghussa tinw wa'azaaban aleemaa

    اور گلے میں پھنستا کھانا اور دردناک عذاب

    And food that chokes, and a painful punishment.

    73:13

14. يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًۭا مَّهِيلًا ﴿١٤﴾

    Yawma tarjuful ardu waljibaalu wa kaanatil jibaalu kaseebam maheelaa

    جس دن تھرتھرائیں گے زمین اور پہاڑ اور پہاڑ ہوجائیں گے ریتے کا ٹیلہ بہتا ہوا،

    On a day when the earth and the mountains will tremble, and the mountains turn into dunes of flowing sand.

    73:14

15. إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًۭا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًۭا ﴿١٥﴾

    Innaa arsalnaaa ilaikum rasoolan shahidan 'alikum kamaaa arsalnaaa ilaa Fir'awna Rasoolna

    بیشک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول بھیجے کہ تم پر حاضر ناظر ہیں جیسے ہم نے فرعون کی طرف رسول بھیجے

    We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun.

    73:15

16. فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًۭا وَبِيلًۭا ﴿١٦﴾

    Fa'asaa Fir'awnur Rasoola fa akhaznaahu akhzanw wabeelaa

    تو فرعون نے اس رسول کا حکم نہ مانا تو ہم نے اسے سخت گرفت سے پکڑا،

    In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure.

    73:16

17. فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًۭا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا ﴿١٧﴾

    Fakaifa tattaqoona in kafartum yawmany yaj'alul wildaana sheeba

    پھر کیسے بچو گے اگر کفر کرو اس دن جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کردے گا

    So how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a day that will turn children old?

    73:17

18. ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا ﴿١٨﴾

    Assamaaa'u munfatirum bih; kaana wa'duhoo maf'oola

    آسمان اس کے صدمے سے پھٹ جائے گا، اللہ کا وعدہ ہوکر رہنا،

    The heaven will split asunder with its grief; the promise of Allah will surely occur.

    73:18

19. إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ﴿١٩﴾

    Inna haazihee tazkiratun fa man shaaa'at takhaza ilaa Rabbihee sabeelaa

    بیشک یہ نصیحت ہے، تو جو چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف راہ لے

    This is indeed an advice; so whoever wishes may take the path towards his Lord.

    73:19

20. ۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًۭا ۚ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۢ ﴿٢٠﴾

    Inna Rabbaka ya'lamu annaka taqoomu adnaa min sulusa yil laili wa nisfahoo wa sulusahoo wa taaa'ifatum minal lazeena ma'ak; wal laahu yuqaddirul laila wanna haar; 'alima al lan tuhsoohu fataaba 'alaikum faqra'oo maa tayassara minal quraan; 'alima an sa yakoonu minkum mardaa wa aakharoona yadriboona fil ardi yabtaghoona min fadlil laahi wa aakharoona yuqaatiloona fee sabeelil laahi faqra'oo ma tayassara minhu wa aqeemus salaata wa aatuz zakaata wa aqridul laaha qardan hasanaa; wa maa tuqadimoo li anfusikum min khairin tajidoohu 'indal laahi huwa khayranw wa a'zama ajraa; wastaghfirul laahaa innal laaha ghafoorur raheem.

    بیشک تمہارا رب جانتا ہے کہ تم قیام کرتے ہو کبھی دو تہائی رات کے قریب، کبھی آدمی رات، کبھی تہائی اور ایک جماعت تمہارے ساتھ والی اور اللہ رات اور دن کا اندازہ فرماتا ہے، اسے معلوم ہے کہ اے مسلمانو! تم سے رات کا شمار نہ ہوسکے گا تو اس نے اپنی مہر سے تم پر رجوع فرمائی اب قرآن میں سے جتنا تم پر آسان ہو اتنا پڑھو اسے معلوم ہے کہ عنقریب کچھ تم میں سے بیمار ہوں گے اور کچھ زمین میں سفر کریں گے اللہ کا فضل تلاش کرنے اور کچھ اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتے ہوں گے تو جتنا قرآن میسر ہو پڑھو اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰة دو اور اللہ کو اچھا قرض دو اور اپنے لیے جو بھلائی آگے بھیجو گے اسے اللہ کے پاس بہتر اور بڑے ثواب کی پاؤ گے، اور اللہ سے بخشش مانگو، بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

    Indeed your Lord knows that you stand up in prayer, sometimes almost two-thirds of the night, and sometimes half the night or sometimes a third of it – and also a group of those along with you; Allah keeps measure of the night and day; He knows that you, O Muslims, will not be able to measure the night, so He has inclined towards you with mercy – therefore recite from the Qur’an as much as is easy for you; He knows that soon some of you will fall ill, and some will travel in the land seeking the munificence of Allah, and some will be fighting in Allah’s cause; therefore recite from the Qur’an as much as is easy for you, and establish prayer and pay the obligatory charity, and lend an excellent loan to Allah; and whatever good you send ahead for yourselves, you will find it with Allah, better and having a great reward; and seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.
